Tamarack Disc Golf Course, Donnelly, ID
So, with Tamarck shutting down, anyone have the inside scoop on the disc golf course? Is the course staying? Are we still planning on Gem State Championships to be held there? I sure hope so, being one of my favorite courses in the area, it sure would be dissapointing to see it go too!

So, did Tamarack OFFICIALLY go BK? Tamarack is my 2nd favorite Idaho course next to Lake Walcott in Rupert, ID. If it goes belly up I hope GSDG or an Idaho player can buy those sicc DGA baskets and put them on some property elsewhere. I'll be looking forward to some updates on this scenario as it unfolds...

NO, Gem state is now at ANN MO (how boring huh) Tamarack course is limbo. maybe the club can get a great price on the baskets if they do go up for action in the future

Walt and I have talked about this, and he has convinced me that the whole of tamarack will be sold off to the highest bidder. You have to look at it from a buyers point of view, wait till the market hits rock bottom before you buy. I think they will keep the course up there, it wouldn't make sense to sell it off, or any little thing that makes up the resort. The property is worth millions, which includes all the extras that are there. They filed chapter eleven (or whatever) last year and the swiss bank of US put money into the mountain (10 million) to keep it running throughout the winter. What we saw on the news was the last dime of that cash had been spent. So they locked the doors and shut the gates, except for those who actually live on the mountain. All we can do is sit back and wait to see who buys it up. It will be bought, it's the best public ball golf course in America, designed by Robert Trent Jones II. One of the reason that they ran out of money was winterizing the construction of the five star hotel. Besides, I honestly don't think GSDG has the funds to buy the baskets.

I sure do hope that the course can stay in the ground but we will have to wait and see. If needed, the GSDG could come up with the cash, I believe.
