I mean really-are you kidding me?
First and foremost the camping situation in and around the Arcata/Eureka is suspicious. I wouldn't reccomend looking on the side of a dirt road near sunset with evidence of horticulture driven pursuits scatterd amongst those gently flowing foothills falling slowly towards the sea. Needless to say I ended up in the safety net of a Huboldt State University parking lot.
I had to move my truck around 7:00 a.m. to avoid any violations so decided to chance the weather and blend in amongst the students around campus. Having not showered in a couple of days, threw on the quadshocks and started wandering the grounds student-like in attempts of finding a bathroom and drinking fountain. I always love roaming college campuses and seeing students in all sorts of states: exhausted, intrigued, aloof, confused, anxious or excited all on the same walkway. It helps creativity develop and I think it's a healthy setting for anyone.
"Redwood Bowl"

Finally found hole #1: the trunk of an old Redwood. This was only the beginning of a very long(3 hrs.) and interesting round. With no map I can honestly and proudly say that I, at one point or another, played every hole on the course. Mostly baskets with some tone poles speckled about. If you could imagine a pleasant hike just after a rain with light fog clinging near the treetops as the sun slowly starts another day of work; that's pretty much the scene here.
"My name is waker and I'm bringin' you the mornin' sun" Widespread Panic

Situated on a rather steep incline-both campus and course are on an uphill jaunt that's rewarded with ocean views.

Appropriatly named "Par Infinity Disc Golf Course"
My score reflected it!
It was a special treat that only the NorCal coast could present. To put plainly-I got lost. I've never had so much fun losing my coordinates just stumbling around in nature and coming across random holes. They should take all the students feeling the pressure of college and make them play a full round 3 times a week. This would be a cure-all and a perfect mediator for stress related problems. Disc golf is my therapy, my drug, my balance. Support college credit and athletics promoting disc golf!
Hole #18

I truly felt in touch with the mountainside while the morning took its course. It will be one I soon not forget. Well worth the struggles of the night before. Effort is always worth the effort.

Where will Highway 1/101 lead me next???
