Not much comes to mind when thinking of Willits, CA. other than a complete escape from all the things that consume our thought process. No work, no finances, no clock, no money, and above all--no stress.

What I had was a safe place to sleep and a disc golf course all to myself. I set up camp on hole 4 where a quick hike around a quaint pond led to a hill top overlooking green pastures complimented by moon beams where the sun religiously fell hehind the Pacific ocean.

A beautiful family from New Zealand runs this KOA which has been recognized multiple years for having the best campground in America. It's not hard to see why: petting zoo, swimming pool, playground, summer activities, hollywood-type sets and an 18 hole disc golf course that any level of player could strongly appreciate.

That pretty much sums it up. A beautiful sunset with no problems and a course all to myself. It's very much how I would envision disc golf in heaven.

Many of the baskets have solar powered lights that rest atop the chains for convenient glow golf sessions late nite.

Oh, and I can't forget to mention that this is probably the southern most region where the redwood family lives!
Don't forget those Redwoods! How could you?

It's really difficult saying so long to those big friendly giants but the Golden Gate is calling.
